Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 with MediaTek processor, military-grade ruggedness revealed


The Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 was tacitly introduced as a 2-in-1 option for students. The laptop comes with a detachable keyboard and a folding stand on the back. It also comes with a stylus support that is housed in the case of the Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1. It has a US military grade ruggedness that can withstand a fall from a classroom desk or dining table. All four outer edges and corners are protected by a sturdy rubber lining that reduces the effects of impacts.

Pricing and availability of the Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 have not yet been announced. It debuted in a single black color finish. The Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 runs on Chrome OS and has a 10.1-inch full HD (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) LCD WUXGA touchscreen display with pen support, 16:10 aspect ratio, 100 percent sRGB and 400 nits Peak brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 500 (MT8183) processor, paired with the Arm Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The Chromebook packs up to 4 GB of RAM and offers up to 128 GB of eMMC storage. Ports include a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. The removable keyboard offers a key travel of 1.5 mm and an ErgoLift design for a comfortable typing experience. The Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 has two built-in 5-magnet stereo speakers and a microphone. It supports Google Assistant voice recognition.

There is an 8-megapixel world camera on the back of the Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 and a 2-megapixel camera on the front. There’s a USI stylus in the garage that gives 45 minutes when charged in just 15 seconds. The Chromebook is equipped with a 27 Wh battery that promises a battery life of up to 11 hours. It weighs around 500 grams and the dimensions are given as 256.4 x 168.2 x 8.9 mm. It is certified to US military standard MIL-STD 810H and comes with a Titan-C security chip.

As mentioned earlier, the Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 has a flexible stand on the back that can be adjusted to lie flat or stay in a comfortable position. In addition to the shock-absorbing material on each of the four corners, there is a solid cover that provides an extra layer of protection in the event of accidental drops or mishaps.
