OnePlus 9RT is slated to hit the market in India and China in October. A new report claims the Chinese company is working on a new smartphone for its ‘T’ series. With the OnePlus 8 series, the company decided to do things differently and released a single OnePlus 8T model. Now it seems to do the same with the OnePlus 9 series, but will reportedly use the OnePlus 9R as its foundation. Some of the specs for this OnePlus 9RT model have also been overturned.
There have been reports that the OnePlus 9T will not be launched this year. OnePlus’ T-series smartphones tend to be a streamlined version of its flagship series, and with the OnePlus 8 series, the company decided to stick with a single T-series phone – OnePlus 8T.
Now, a new report from Android Central, citing insider sources, states that the next phone in the T-series, at least for this year, will be the OnePlus 9RT, which will be launched in October for the Indian and Chinese markets . As the name suggests, it is an optimized version of the OnePlus 9R, the cheapest offer in the OnePlus 9 series. As for the specs, this alleged OnePlus 9RT is said to have the same 120 Hz AMOLED panel as the OnePlus 9R, 65 W fast charge support, a 4,500 mAh battery and a higher-binned version of the Snapdragon 870 ” to have. In terms of optics, the OnePlus 9RT could be equipped with the same primary sensor as the OnePlus Nord 2 – the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor.
In terms of software, the report adds that it will be the first OnePlus phone with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. It will bring more ColorOS functions with floating, changeable windows, a theme memory and the private safe of ColorOS.
OxygenOS 12 isn’t supposed to feature Google’s new Material You aesthetic.
Additionally, the report said that OnePlus was hoping to have released a closed beta of OxygenOS 12 by now, but a large number of bugs with the build prevented this from happening. The entire software team is apparently working to fix the bugs and get the tight beta out to testers by the end of this month.
It should be noted that OnePlus has not shared any information on a OnePlus 9RT or developments with a closed beta of OxygenOS 12.
