After months of waiting, Battlegrounds Mobile India was made available for iOS. The popular game can be downloaded from the App Store for iPad and iPhone.
The game was launched for Android users in mid-June and had to be pre-registered before that. The iOS version of the game has been in the works for a long time, and developer Krafton has been teasing BGMI’s launch on the platform for a while now.
The game’s official website states that maintenance work was carried out on the iOS version of the game’s authentication system on Wednesday morning, after which it presumably went live for iPad and iPhone users.
Battlegrounds Mobile India opened for pre-registration on Google Play in mid-May, while the beta version of the game was made available for download on June 17th.
The official launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India on Android took place on July 2nd. Meanwhile, iOS users waited with bated breath for updates from the developer to release the game on the platform. However, despite teasing about a release, Krafton did not mention an exact date or approximate schedule.
The game is now available for download from the App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The 1.9 GB game requires iOS 9.0 / iPadOS 9.0 or later versions. According to Krafton, at least 2 GB of RAM are required to run the game smoothly.
The game’s iOS app has an age rating of 17+ with a listing indicating “frequent / intense realistic violence” – something Krafton tried to avoid following PUBG India’s ban.
India banned PUBG and several other China-related apps and games last year amid tensions between countries following the killing of 20 Indian soldiers in Ladakh. The IT ministry said at the time that it had credible information that the apps were acting against the interests of the country.
