Battlegrounds Mobile India exceeds 50 million downloads, players rewarded with Galaxy Messenger set outfit

Battlegrounds Mobile India has passed the 50 million download mark. The game was officially released on July 2nd and has seen significant growth over the past month, despite being available a little before its official launch. Krafton announced the development in a press release and rewarded players in the game with a permanent outfit as part of the 50M Downloads Rewards event announced earlier this month. Battlegrounds Mobile India is currently only available for Android, but the developer has announced an iOS launch that will be coming soon.

Just over a month after the official launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India on July 2nd, developer Krafton announced a 50 million downloads rewards event in anticipation of the game reaching 50 million downloads. In the first week of its launch, Battlegrounds Mobile India had 34 million downloads and it was a matter of time before the game hit 50 million. The 50 million download reward event included milestone rewards for the three phases – 48 million, 49 million and 50 million downloads. Now, on August 14th, the game has completed the final phase and players have been rewarded in-game with the Galaxy Messenger Set Outfit as a permanent item.

“We send our warm wishes to our Indian fans on the occasion of Independence Day. We’re excited to be part of this celebration, which is made sweeter as Battlegrounds Mobile India hit 50 million downloads on the Play Store in just over a month! I’m looking forward to an equally strong response to our first eSports tournament from next month, ”said Wooyol Lim, Head of Battlegrounds Mobile Division at Krafton.

In the press release, Krafton also said that it will be making announcements about the iOS version of the game on its social media channels very soon. Battlegrounds Mobile India is slated to hit the App Store this month, but an exact date is not yet available.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is a free battle royale game launched in India as the local avatar of PUBG Mobile, which was banned in the country back in September.
