Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) developer Krafton announced on Monday (August 16) that the hugely popular mobile game had seen 50 million downloads on Google Play in less than 60 days of its launch in India.
Krafton celebrated the milestone by giving away a permanent Galaxy Messenger Set outfit and a few other rewards. It is worth remembering that a few days ago the South Korean company also announced special rewards in the run-up to the important milestone of 50 million downloads. Krafton had provided three delivery coupon crate scraps when Battlegrounds Mpbile India hit 48 and 49 million downloads, respectively.
In particular, Battlegrounds Mobile India’s latest achievements are not surprising as PUBG Mobile India, which was banned by the Indian government for privacy reasons, has been hugely popular across the country. According to reports, PUBG Mobile India had over 180 million downloads and a 33 million user base in India.
Commenting on the success of Battlegrounds Mobile India, Wooyol Lim, Head of BGMI Division at Krafton, said in the press release: “We’re excited to be part of this celebration, which is made even more sweeter by Battlegrounds Mobile India’s 50 million downloads on Play Camp in just over a month. I’m looking forward to an equally strong response to our first e-sports tournament from next month. “
Krafton also announced that it will soon release details on the launch of the iOS version of the game on its social media channels. Currently, Battlegrounds Mobile India is only available on Android phones through Google Play. BMGI is celebrating “Independence Day Mahotsav” from August 11th to 20th, where players can win rewards, including special AGM skins.
