Fast & Furious 10 now has a release date: It hits theaters worldwide on April 7, 2023. Universal Pictures announced on Wednesday that the tenth and penultimate chapter of The Fast Saga – as the Fast & Furious franchise is now called – will be out in less than two years. Fast & Furious 10’s April 2023 release date brings back the Easter weekend film franchise that previously contributed to the financial success of its top-grossing entry, Furious 7 ($ 1.5 billion +) in 2015, despite the posthumous death of Paul Walker and his posthumous appearance much more to do with it.
The Easter weekend (or so) also served as the release date for three more films in the franchise: Fast & Furious from 2009 ($ 360 million for the weakest entry), Fast Five from 2011 ($ 626 million for the series revival) , and 2017 Fast & Furious 8 / The Fate of the Furious (over $ 1.2 billion and the final entry with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson together). The latest entry, Fast & Furious 9 – or F9 as it is known in some markets – should also be released on the Easter weekend after the initial COVID-induced delay. But it ended up with a staggered rollout.
Fast & Furious 9 premiered in parts of Asia and Europe in mid-May before arriving in the US home market at the end of June. Universal Pictures has not yet released Fast & Furious 9 in India – it was initially pushed because no theaters were open in the country in June and the studio has since avoided other titles. Fast & Furious 9 dodged The Suicide Squad first, pulling away from August 5th to 19th. And when the Akshay Kumar Starrer Bell Bottom lands on August 19th, Universal Pictures has postponed the Fast & Furious 9 release date in India to September 3rd.
In the meantime, Universal Pictures has announced that F9 will be available on Blu-ray in the US and Canada on September 21 in two versions of the film: the theatrical version and an extended Director’s Cut. There’s no word on what Justin Lin added to the latter, although it’s likely a marketing ploy to make more money on Fast & Furious 9 since the movie’s box office has been hit by the pandemic. Even so, despite COVID-19, it has made over $ 681.5 million (approximately Rs.5,062 billion). Two sequels designed as a two-part finale have already been confirmed – and now we know when the first is due.
Fast & Furious 10 will be released worldwide on April 7, 2023. Filming is scheduled to begin in January 2022 and production could take place sequentially with Fast & Furious 11. Lin will return as a director for both entries, and you can look at Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, John Cena. imagine Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron and Jason Statham back in front of the camera. Lin also teased Paul Walker’s return (via CGI and his brothers’ help), saying he thinks about it every day.
