Electric scooters are slowly but surely becoming a popular sector in India. A number of local companies are responding to increasing customer demand and have started introducing their two-wheelers. While some of these companies are established companies like Bajaj and TVS, many of the brands are still in their infancy like Ola and Ather. Not only are electric scooters environmentally friendly, they can also cut your fuel costs to zero.

So if you are looking to buy an electric scooter, here is a list of the most popular in the country:

Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro

The youngest in the electric two-wheeler market, Ola has launched two e-scooters – S1 and S1 Pro – trying to change the market dynamics with its competitive prices. Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro come with price tags of Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 1.21 lakhs, respectively. With these price tags, Ola seems to suggest that the price of electric scooters can be reduced significantly through smart research. Ola S1 has a 2.98 kWh battery, which enables a range of 121 km and a top speed of 90 km / h. The Ola S1 Pro, on the other hand, gets a 3.97 kWh battery via an “optional performance enhancement accessory,” which Ola Electric claims gives it a range of 181 km and a top speed of 115 km / h.

Ather 450X

The Ather 450X comes with a certified range of 116 km and a top speed of 80 km / h. The company claims the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 3 hours and 35 minutes. It comes with an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.32 lakh.

Easy thing

The Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy launched its flagship e-bike on Independence Day. The Simple One electric scooter comes with an impressive range of up to 236 km and a top speed of 105 km / h. The battery is divided into two parts. One of them can be removed for charging purposes. The ex showroom price competes with that of Ola S1 at Rs. 1.09 lakhs.

TVS iQube

TVS iQube has a range of 75 km in Eco mode and a top speed of 78 km / h. Price (ex-showroom) at just over Rs. 1 lakh, the battery takes five hours to charge up to 80 percent.

Bajaj Chetak

Bajaj markets the fully electric Chetak as a premium product at a slightly higher price than its competitors. This e-bike is available in six colors and two variants, with prices ex showroom from Rs. 1.42 lakh. The e-bike has a range of 95 km in eco mode and is fully charged in five hours. It takes five hours to fully charge the battery.
