Redmi 10 launched with 50 mega-pixel primary camera, 90 Hz refresh rate display: price, specifications


Redmi 10 was launched in Malaysia on Wednesday after numerous teasers over the past week. The smartphone is expected to reach other markets shortly and is currently offered in three RAM + memory configurations. It comes with a 50-megapixel primary sensor for its quad rear-view camera setup, a 6.5-inch Full HD + AdaptiveSync display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. Redmi 10 receives a 5,000 mAh battery that supports wireless charging and reverse wired charging. Xiaomi posted a brief blog post last week confirming the device and leaked its key specs.

Xiaomi announced the Redmi 10 through a post on its official blog. The blog post does not mention where the new smartphone will be available. However, a tweet from Xiaomi Malaysia mentions that the Redmi 10 will be launched in Malaysia in two configurations. There is no information on the market launch of the smartphone in India.

Redmi 10 price, availability

The blog post mentions that the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant of the Redmi 10 costs 179 US dollars (approx. 13,300 rupees), the 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant costs 199 US dollars (approx. 14,800 rupees) and the 6 GB RAM + The 128 GB storage variant costs 219 US dollars (approx. 16,300 Rs.). Redmi 10 will be available in Carbon Gray, Pebble White and Sea Blue color options. Launch markets weren’t detailed in the blog post, but availability on August 20th was mentioned.

Malaysia could be among the go-to-market markets, with the company’s Twitter handle for the region sharing the same availability. It was also mentioned that the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant costs 649 MYR (approximately 11,400 rupees) and the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant costs 749 MYR (approximately 13,100 rupees).

Redmi 10 specifications, features

Redmi 10 runs with MIUI 12.5, based on Android 11. It has a 6.5-inch Full HD + (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) AdaptiveSync display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Its display also receives reading mode 3.0 and that Sunlight display. Under the hood, it’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of onboard storage.

For the optics, it gets a quad rear-view camera setup that is overwritten by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It also gets an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and two 2-megapixel sensors for macro and depth purposes. Selfies and video calls are processed by an 8 megapixel sensor. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and two speakers. Redmi 10 also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock.

Redmi 10 includes a 5,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charge support. However, Xiaomi includes a 22.5 W fast charger in the box. The smartphone is also capable of wired charging with 9 W. It measures 161.95 x 75.53 x 8.92mm and weighs 181 grams. Xiaomi has yet to reveal the full specs of the newly launched smartphone, but the published specs are the same as the specs of the accidentally published blog post last week.
