With the ATH-S220BT, Audio-Technica has introduced the company’s latest budget headphones, which offer a battery life of up to 60 hours and promise wireless performance with low latency. The headphones allow users to connect to two devices at the same time via Bluetooth. Other important highlights of the Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT are support for the Google Assistant and Siri voice assistants, Google’s Fast Pair integration and fast charging for faster charging. The headphones are designed as an upgrade of the ATH-S200BT, which was introduced in 2019.

The Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT was priced at $ 59. The headphones are available in black, navy blue, and white color options and are initially available in the US. Details on pricing and availability for the Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT in India are to be announced.

The Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT has 40 mm closed dynamic drivers with a frequency response range of 5–32,000 Hz and an impedance of 32 ohms. The headphones have padded, flat ear cushions. There is Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity for a wireless music playback experience. However, the ATH-S220BT can also be used as wired headphones with the supplied 1.2 meter cable and a built-in 3.5 mm connector.
Users can pair the Audio-Technica ATH-S220BT with two Bluetooth devices at the same time and switch between them for different tasks. There’s also Google’s Fast Pair support to enable one-tap pairing with compatible Android devices.
The headphones come with earcup controls that allow users to play, pause, or join a call without removing their connected phone. The controls are also compatible with Google Assistant and Siri to use your voice to access messages, map navigation, and other features.
Audio-Technica offers a built-in microphone with a frequency response of 50–4,000 Hz for hands-free calling. However, there is no support for active noise cancellation.
The AT-S220BT contains a 3.7V lithium polymer battery that provides up to 60 hours of uninterrupted playback on a single charge. The headphones should deliver up to 3.5 hours of running time with a 10-minute quick charge via a USB Type-C port and the included charging cable. The headphones also weigh 180 grams.
