Gmail receives search filters, the Google app now offers the option of deactivating personalized search results for Android users

Gmail for Android is given the option to apply search filters that help users find specific emails. With the new feature, users can quickly and easily filter email search results on their mobile devices. The search filters should appear under the search box in the Gmail app. The filter can be a name or a specific time frame. When searching for emails by sender, users can select from a list of suggested senders or search for emails from multiple senders. In addition, the Internet giant has also added new settings to the Google app on Android, which make it possible to control the possibility of personalized search results.

In a blog post, Google announced the addition of improved search functionality to Gmail for Android. Android device users can use this feature by tapping the search icon in the app’s search box. To search faster, Gmail suggests search terms based on information from users’ Gmail accounts, such as contacts, labels or messages. The results include all messages except those in spam or trash.

The new feature corresponds to the special widget update that Gmail for iOS received last year. The improved search functionality for Gmail for Android was launched on Monday September 20th and will be fully available by the end of October. It will be available to all Google Workspace customers as well as G Suite Basic and Business customers.

In another development, the Google app for Android is being updated to control personalized search results. It allows users to disable or enable the “personalized search results” option through the app, which gives them control over whether Google can use their account information to display personalized results. Features of this option include:

    • Auto-complete predictions that include search predictions based on search history.
    • Personal responses such as location, reminders and reservations.
    • Recommendations based on Google activity, e.g. B. what to see, where to travel, where to eat, etc.

If a user does not want to see personalized search results, the functions listed above will not be available to them. Google allows you to change the settings by tapping. to deactivate Settings> Personal Results on the start page of the Google app. The addition of the new feature in the Google app for Android was first spotted by 9to5Google
