Disney Plus has a GroupWatch feature so you can watch shows with your friends at the same time, wherever you are.

Disney PlusThe GroupWatch function enables subscribers to watch all shows and films of the streaming service simultaneously with friends and family remotely within the USA. Up to seven people can sync their screens to watch them together over the web, mobile devices, networked TVs, and smart TVs, and share real-time emoji reactions as they watch everything from classic Disney movies to Marvels What if? series. (Look at all of them the best movies to watch on Disney Plus here.)

GroupWatch is the Disney Plus version of TeleParty (formerly called Netflix Party) and Amazon Prime Video Watch Party, which gained popularity in the early days of the pandemic. In contrast to these offerings, GroupWatch works natively on any device without the need for an extension or app. However, there is currently no chat function – instead, viewers from the Disney Plus app can send emoji reactions to the group screen. However, you can still chat with your friends via text message or video while you watch together. And according to Jerrell B. Jimerson, senior vice president of product management at Disney Plus, a chat option could be added in the future when it launched in 2020.
