Disney Plus has a GroupWatch feature so you can watch shows with your friends at the same time, wherever you are.

The GroupWatch function enables subscribers to watch all shows and films of the streaming service simultaneously with friends and family remotely within the USA. Up to seven people can sync their screens to watch them together over the web, mobile devices, networked TVs, and smart TVs, and share real-time emoji reactions as they watch everything from classic Disney movies to . (Look at all of them .)
GroupWatch is the Disney Plus version of(formerly called Netflix Party) and , which gained popularity in the early days of the pandemic. In contrast to these offerings, GroupWatch works natively on any device without the need for an extension or app. However, there is currently no chat function – instead, viewers from the Disney Plus app can send emoji reactions to the group screen. However, you can still chat with your friends via text message or video while you watch together. And according to Jerrell B. Jimerson, senior vice president of product management at Disney Plus, a chat option could be added in the future when it launched in 2020.

How to set up Disney Plus GroupWatch
How to use Disney Plus GroupWatch to see all the Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and National Geographic content you want at the same time with your friends and family, wherever you live. (A note: if the user has a child profile, they cannot start or join GroupWatch from that profile.)
1. Open the Disney Plus app or website and tap or click the song you want to watch.
2. On the far right of the play symbol you will see a symbol with three person figures. Tap or click on it.
3. A link will open that you can use to invite up to six other people to watch with you. You can send the link via SMS, email, or any other option your device allows. (However, anyone you send the link to must have awhich costs $ 8 a month.)
4th Once everyone has been added, anyone can tap Start stream.
5. As soon as the stream has started, each participant can press pause, fast-forward or rewind. Anyone can also react in real time with six different emojis via the Disney Plus app: like, funny, sad, angry, scared and surprised. The emoji and the name of the person who sent it will appear at the bottom of all screens.
GroupWatch was launched in Canada and New Zealand in September 2020. It was launched in the UK in October 2020.
