Apple ‘Unleashed’ October event announced, new MacBook Pros and AirPods expected

Apple has announced its second virtual event of the season, which will take place on October 18 at 10:00 a.m. PDT (10:30 p.m. India). The company released a teaser showing an Apple logo made of rays of light against a black background with the word “Unleashed” in it, apparently like the effect often used to depict spaceships traveling at high speed. This could be a reference to the rumored Apple M1X processor that could be the centerpiece of the new MacBook Pro and Mac Mini models that are slated to be announced. Apple has not officially proposed or confirmed anything that could be announced at the event.

The virtual “Unleashed” event will be broadcast from Apple Park. Rumors and leaks point to the debut of new M1X-based 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with better connectivity, MagSafe charging and no Touch Bar. In addition, Apple could introduce a completely redesigned Mac mini. Finally, the event could also be the place where Apple launches new third generation AirPods, designed like the current AirPods Pro, but geared towards a lower price point. The new AirPods 3 should already be announced last month at the launch event of the iPhone 13 series. These products are expected to go on sale shortly after the event, in time for the US Christmas shopping season.
