Moto E40 launches today in India: Expected price, specifications

The Motorola Moto E40 will be launched in India today, October 12th at 12 noon. The new Motorola phone is equipped with a 90 Hz display and an octa-core Unisoc T700 SoC, paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Moto E40 was launched in Europe last week and is now debuting in the Indian market. Features of the new handset include triple rear-view cameras with a 48-megapixel main sensor, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The Moto E40 was launched worldwide on October 8th at a price of 149 euros (approx. 12,900 rupees). We can assume that the India variant of the Moto E40 is roughly in the same range.

The handset was launched in the world market in the color options Charcoal Gray and Clay Pink. However, a microsite on Flipkart revealed that the Indian variant will be available in Carbon Gray and Pink Clay color options.

The Dual-SIM (Nano) Moto E40 smartphone will have a 6.5-inch HD + display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display has a hole punch for the selfie camera. The handset runs on Android 11 and is powered by a Unisoc T700 octa-core processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM. The internal memory is specified as 64 GB. Users can expand the storage to 1TB with a microSD card.

The new Moto E40 has a triple camera setup on the back, which is surmounted by a 48-megapixel main sensor with quad-pixel technology for enhanced nighttime shots. The rear view camera setup also includes a depth camera and a dedicated macro vision sensor. The handset has a Google Assistant button as well as a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and a face unlock function.

Like the global variant, the Moto E40 Indian Edition will also contain a 5,000 mAh battery that, according to the company, can last up to 40 hours on a single charge. Motorola offers an IP52-certified dust and water-repellent construction for the Moto E40.
