The international tennis federation and the Davis Cup organizer Kosmos Tennis have agreed to reach an agreement with the blockchain provider Chiliz to introduce an official Davis Cup fan token on Socios.com – a platform used for the introduction of fan- Token is known for football clubs. The fan token in question, named “$ DAVIS Fan Token”, will give fans of the prestigious tournament the opportunity to gain access to a whole range of competitions and interactive content centered around what is widely compared to a world championship, however only for tennis.
According to a report by Nairametrics, these fan-specific engagement opportunities for $ DAVIS Fan Token holders include the ability to have a say and vote on a range of initiatives by taking part in interactive polls conducted through the Socios.com app. Socios.com as a platform has 1.2 million users around the world and identifies itself as a direct-to-consumer platform that uses blockchain technology to provide the world’s leading sports organizations with the tools to interact with their global fan bases get in touch and monetize them.
It is not yet clear how many tokens will be on sale and how much they will cost. What we do know, however, is that this year’s edition of the Davis Cup Finals will take place from November 25th to December 5th, with venues in three different cities – Madrid, Innsbruck and Turin. Participants will be from 18 countries divided into six groups of three.
