Pinterest co-founder Evan Sharp joins the LoveFrom company of former Apple designer Jony Ive

Pinterest said Thursday that co-founder Evan Sharp is leaving to join LoveFrom, a company led by Jony Ive, the designer of many iconic Apple products. Sharp built Pinterest’s original platform and oversaw its rapid growth over the past decade, most recently serving as the company’s chief design and creative officer.

Sharp founded the online scrapbook and photo sharing platform together with Ben Silbermann, the company’s CEO, and Paul Sciarra, who left the company in 2012.

The company said in a blog post that he will move into an advisory role and continue to serve as a board member.

Ive founded the design company LoveFrom together with his designer colleague Marc Newson. “LoveFrom is a creative collective,” says the company’s website. His clients include the apartment rental company Airbnb and the Italian luxury car manufacturer Ferrari.

I’ve been a close creative contributor to Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. He spent more than two decades with the tech giant before leaving 2019, directing the design of the candy-colored iMac devices that helped Apple resurface from near death in the 1990s, as well as the design of the iPhone.
