Clubhouse so users can pin links to the top of the rooms starting October 27th

The Clubhouse audio app for social networks will soon allow its users to share external links and monetize their work on the platform.

Clubhouse CEO Paul Davison and global director of marketing Maya Watson recently announced a new pinned link feature that allows moderators to place external links at the top of a room.

These links take listeners to anything presenters want, including a news article or podcast.

Certain links would not be allowed for security and moderation reasons.

Paul Davison didn’t name the types of links that would not be allowed, but he allegedly suggested that links to OnlyFans would fall into this category as links to porn or explicit content are forbidden.

Anyone can add, change or remove a link as long as they are the moderator of a room and regardless of the number of followers.

Clubhouse will not bill or take any revenue from transactions made through the link, although Paul Davison said the team “will likely be sharing news in the coming months about how the app itself is going to make money, e.g.”

The feature will be launched on October 27 for iOS and Android.
