Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro with screen flicker and green cast issues, some early users are complaining

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are experiencing issues such as screen flicker and unexpected green cast, some affected users report online. The problems are clearly observed and reported just one day after the Pixel 6 series goes on sale in the US. Both new Google Pixel phones come with the company’s proprietary Tensor SoC and run on Android 12 from the factory. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also have camera enhancements that are powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Several users have reported on Reddit about the flickering problem that occurs when pressing the power button on the Pixel 6 Pro. The problem was also noticed by Android police and insisted on one of their verification devices. However, it is unclear whether the problem is also present with the regular Pixel 6 model, as most of the user complaints are related to the Pixel 6 Pro.

One of the affected users made a short video to replicate the problem. Some users believe that the flickering is due to static electricity released from the phone when the power button is pressed.

In addition to the flickering problem, some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users experienced the green cast effect that suddenly appeared on the display.

Another user on Twitter reported that they noticed a two-hole design on the Pixel 6 Pro due to a bug. The user posted a video on the social media platform that shows the secondary hole punch that could be due to some dead pixels on the display.

With all of the reported complaints, it is unclear whether the problems were due to faulty software or some hardware issues.

Gadgets 360 has contacted Google for a comment on this matter and will update this section if the company replies.

The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launched last week. Both new phones are equipped with the specially developed Tensor SoC. The phones also come in a new design that is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

After the official launch, Google confirmed to Gadgets 360 that neither of the new Pixel phones should be launched in India.
