Instagram, Snapchat add special Diwali stickers, lenses, and more: how to use


Instagram and Snapchat introduced new features before Diwali. Instagram, which belongs to Facebook, has released three new stickers. When Instagram users post stories with stickers, these are also visible to their followers in a Diwali-special multi-author story. Snapchat, on the other hand, has added new AR Lenses, Cameos, Stickers and Bitmojis to celebrate Diwali in the app. The Color Together game on Snapchat has also added four Diwali special sketches to the app.

Instagram announced the launch of three new stickers on the photo sharing platform on Monday. The new stickers are part of the company’s global campaign for Diwali, known as #ShareYourLight.

Instagram Diwali special stickers: how to use

  1. Open Instagram, capture content, or upload it to your story.
  2. In the top navigation bar, tap the “Stickers” icon.
  3. Select the new Diwali-themed stickers and place them on your story.
  4. Tap on Your stories to post or share on your profile with Close friends.

Instagram says the new stickers are available to all users starting today. The multi-author story feature will go live on Tuesday November 2nd.

As mentioned earlier, before Diwali, Snapchat also started launching new AR lenses, cameos, stickers and games. The new lens illuminates the screen with fireworks as soon as the user turns it on. Snapchat users can add custom Diwali designs like lanterns and fireworks to Snap Map. Snapchat launched Lenses to celebrate Diwali every five days – Bhai Dooj, Govardhan Puja, Dhanteras, Chhoti Diwali, and Diwali.

Users can share versions of the popular Diwali-themed cartoon lens on Snapchat. Additionally, a Desi Music playlist allows users to add groovy tunes to their snaps. Snapchat users can customize their Bitmoji avatar with Diwali delicacies and Hindi Bitmoji stickers. In addition, users of the app have access to hyper-local geofilters in 20 Indian cities.
