After Facebook changed its name to Meta to reflect its commitment to the Metaverse, Microsoft is also preparing to launch its own version that will likely focus on the corporate world. Regarding the Metaverse, a space where digital avatars of people at work and play interact, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella tweeted that the Metaverse “is not only changing the way we see the world, but also how we participate “. He also shared a video showing how Microsoft planned to integrate with the emerging virtual world.

“When the digital and physical world come together, we will create a completely new platform level, the metaverse. In a way, the metaverse allows us to embed computing in the real world and embed the real world in computing to give real presence to any digital space, ”Nadella said at the beginning of the video.

The metaverse is there and it changes not only how we see the world, but also how we participate in it – from the factory floor to the meeting room. Just look. pic.twitter.com/h5tsdYMXRD

Nadella added that it’s no longer just about looking at the camera view of a scene. In fact, people can be there. It’s no longer just a video conference with colleagues, you can be in the same room with them. Mesh, a collaborative platform for virtual experiences, with Microsoft Teams enables you to connect with your avatar and have a shared immersive experience right in teams, Nadella said.

In the video some digital avatars show how the MS teams work in the Metaverse. These animated avatars can mimic your voice by listening to it with artificial intelligence. The avatars move freely and have personal conversations without any problems. It can also be used for training new employees who work remotely. The new hires can get into the same environment as their team leaders, which helps them make immediate and deeper connections.

The mesh can be integrated into Microsoft 365, which gives Microsoft’s entry into the Metaverse more business perspectives. “We can’t wait to see what you build and how you use this technology to bring people together,” said Nadella.
