Oppo A16K was launched as a new handset among the company’s A-series phones in the Philippines. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has presented the latest device as a new variant for Oppos mid-range smartphone, the Oppo A16. Oppo A16K comes as a weakened version of Oppo A16. The Oppo A16K has a waterdrop-style notch display and is powered by a Mediatek Helio G35 processor. The smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It also includes a 4,230 mAh battery.

Oppo A16K price and availability

The new Oppo A16K costs PHP 6,999 (about 10,300 rupees) for the only variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The smartphone is available in black and blue color options and is currently only available in the Philippines from Shopee and Lazada. Details of availability and pricing in other markets including India were not disclosed.

In September this year, Oppo A16 was launched in India at a cost of Rs. 13,990 for the only variant with 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage.

Oppo A16K specifications

The Dual-SIM (Nano) Oppo A16K runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1 Lite. The handset has a 6.52 inch HD + (1,600 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a pixel density of 269 pixels per inch (ppi). According to Oppo, the handset has an “eye care” screen. The Oppo A16K is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio G35 processor paired with 3 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 32 GB storage. The onboard memory can be expanded by up to 256 GB using a microSD card.

For optics, the Oppo A16K has a single 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. However, this is a significant downgrade compared to the Vanilla Oppo A16. The Oppo A16 has a triple rear camera with a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel bokeh (depth) sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

Connectivity options on the Oppo A16K include dual band WiFi, Bluetooth v5, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS and a USB Type-C port. It comes with a 4,230 mAh battery that supports 5 V / 2 A charging. The new Oppo handset also offers super energy-saving mode, night filters and optimized night charging. It measures 164.0 x 75.4 x 7.85 mm and weighs 175 grams.
