Samsung Galaxy S22 series could get Snapdragon 898 processor in India, US variant could pack Exynos chipset

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have been overturned several times in the past. The company’s new flagship non-foldable range is expected to include the regular Samsung Galaxy S22 model in addition to the Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Samsung usually launches two separate models of the Galaxy S series that are intended for different markets. The handset with Qualcomm processor usually hits the US market, while the variant with Exynos processor makes its debut in global markets. However, with the launch of the Galaxy S22 range, Samsung is reportedly planning to avoid this practice. A new leak suggests that the South Korean tech giant will introduce the Galaxy S22 series in India with a Snapdragon processor instead of its Exynos chipset.

The well-known tipster Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) tweeted about the launch of the Snapdragon chipset-powered Galaxy S22 series in other markets. According to a report by Android Police, Asia, Africa and the US markets will receive Samsung Galaxy S22 phones with Snapdragon 898 this time around. The UK, Europe and the rest of the world are reported to receive devices with the Exynos 2200 processor installed. The report goes on to say that Asia and Africa will receive separate variants of the Samsung Galaxy S22 range for the first time, model numbers SM-S901E, SM-S906E and SM-S908E. Both the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 chipsets have yet to be unveiled.

The Galaxy S22 series is slated to hit the market in January, but a recent report points to a launch in February 2022. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S series flagship is expected to be unveiled on February 8 next year at 10 a.m. ET (8.30 p.m. IST). Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S22 range are expected to start on the same day, and sales are slated to start on February 18.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the development of the Galaxy S22 models. Therefore, this information should be viewed with caution.
