Samsung has seen several new product announcements this year, including the introduction of the latest foldable Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, the wearable Galaxy Watch 4, and more. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is expected to be the South Korean brand’s major launch in 2022. But aside from the flagship smartphone, according to a leaked Samsung production plan for 2022, the company plans to unveil a handful of products to include successors to popular Samsung products like the 2020 Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Tab S8 variants, Galaxy Watch 5, and more.
According to a report by South Korean news site The Elec, Samsung’s Wireless division has shared its 2022 business plans with around 30 key partners via Tron (@FrontTron), including the names of the upcoming tablets, laptops, smartwatches and wireless headphones. According to the report, Samsung plans to ship 33.6 million Galaxy Tab units in the coming year.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series should be in work for 2022 with the vanilla variants Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8 Lite, Galaxy Tab S8 + and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. All models except the Galaxy Tab S8 Lite should go into production from the first quarter of 2022, while the variant of the Galaxy Tab S8 Lite should go into production from the third quarter of next year.
According to the report, Samsung will produce 1.6 million units of the Galaxy Tab S8 Lite and 1.2 million units of the vanilla Galaxy Tab S8. The Galaxy Tab S8 + and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra models are expected to be manufactured in 900,000 and 400,000 units, respectively.
Galaxy A-series tabs, including the Galaxy Tab A8 and Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, are slated to go into production between Q1 and Q4 in 2022. Samsung is expected to produce 11 million units at a time, the report said.
Samsung plans to target 7.4 million PC shipments in the next year. The report further shows that Samsung plans to produce two Windows laptops as well as a Chromebook in 2022. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 2-in-1 and Galaxy Book 2 Pro 5G models will be produced with 300,000 units each and will go into production from the second quarter of next year. The Galaxy Chromebook Go is said to be manufactured using the JDM (Joint Development Manufacturing) process.
According to the report, Samsung plans to launch 19 million units of the smartwatch in the coming year. The company plans to produce 4.8 million units of the Galaxy Watch 5 in the fourth quarter of 2022. Likewise, the tech giant plans to manufacture 23 million units of Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and Galaxy Buds Live 2 in Q2-Q3. According to the report, Samsung plans to produce 3.1 million units of the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and 3.3 million units of the Buds Live 2.
