OnePlus RT appears on the OnePlus Care app in India ahead of Tipped’s launch in December

OnePlus RT was spotted in India in a new entry on the OnePlus Care app, suggesting the smartphone might be on its way to the country. The OnePlus 9RT was launched in China in October, and the smartphone is slated to arrive in India in December. The handset is expected to have the same specs as its Chinese counterpart, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and 6.62-inch AMOLED display, as well as a 50-megapixel triple rear-view camera.

According to a report by 91Mobiles, tipster Mukul Sharma discovered a listing for the Chinese OnePlus 9RT in the Indian version of the official OnePlus Care app. While previous reports suggest the smartphone will likely launch as the OnePlus RT in India, the app entry could just be a placeholder. The handset’s appearance in the official app comes a day after a tipster suggested that the handset could launch in India on December 16.

OnePlus RT specs (expected)

According to previous leaks, the OnePlus RT could have the same specs as its Chinese counterpart, which means the phone will likely have a Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone could have a 6.62-inch Full HD + (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a fingerprint sensor under the display.

The smartphone is also expected to hit the market with support for 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and NFC connectivity and powered by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for Warp Charge 65T fast charging. On the camera front, OnePlus RT will likely have a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. At the front, the company will equip the smartphone with a 16-megapixel selfie camera, similar to the Chinese OnePlus 9RT.
