Xiaomi 12 is slated to hit the market on December 12th and will likely debut with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

Xiaomi 12 had leaked multiple times in the past. The Chinese smartphone brand has yet to announce the launch details of the upcoming flagship smartphone, but a new leak suggests that the launch of Xiaomi 12 could take place on December 12th. Earlier leaks suggested that the Xiaomi 12 could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The handset is also equipped with a 50 megapixel primary sensor. In addition to the Xiaomi 12, another handset in the upcoming series, the Xiaomi 12X, is likely to be announced.

According to a report by the Chinese publication MyDrivers, Xiaomi could introduce Xiaomi 12 on December 12, taking into account the uniqueness of the date and the shopping festival that takes place in China in mid-December. Xiaomi 12 is set to debut as the world’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The new SoC is expected to be unveiled at the Qualcomm Tech Summit between November 30th and December 2nd.

Xiaomi 12 is said to have a curved display and symmetrical speakers, according to a Weibo post from Digital Chat Station. The handset is expected to be equipped with a Full HD + (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Xiaomi mobile phone is also equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera and, together with 100 W, supports fast charging.

At the same time, in addition to the Xiaomi 12, the Xiaomi 12X will also be announced in December. The handset should carry a Snapdragon 870 SoC and should come as a possible successor to the Mi 11X. The Xiaomi 12X is expected to have a 6.28-inch OLED display (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) and will contain the Snapdragon 870 SoC and a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood. Xiaomi 12X will also have a 50-megapixel camera, as well as a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Xiaomi 12X also supports wired charging with 67 W and wireless charging with 33 W.
