In the virtual game world Sandbox, a mega-yacht was sold for a whopping 650,000 US dollars (approximately 4.8 billion rupees). As part of the metaverse, this virtual luxury ship is called the “Metaflower Super Mega Yacht” with two helicopter landing pads, whirlpools and a DJ booth, among other things. With this purchase, the Metaflower yacht has become the most expensive non-fungible token (NFT) sold in the sandbox – a virtual world based on the Ethereum blockchain that allows players to collect digital collectibles, their own games to create and criticize their experiences.

Metaverse is a futuristic, three-dimensional version of the Internet that can potentially sustain a fully functional virtual universe.

At a time when the concept of the Metaverse is starting to reverberate in gaming and crypto realms, news of this purchase quickly surfaced on social media.

As can be seen in the pictures, this yacht is three-story and white. This NFT was paid for in 149 ether tokens.

Congratulations to the new owner of the Metaflower NFT Super Mega Yacht who made Metaverse NFT history. This auction marks the highest price paid for a @TheSandboxGame NFT asset at ETH 149 ($ 650,000) and an exciting time for any member of the fantasy community. pic.twitter.com/Nl0278JbOT

The expensive digital asset was released by Republic Realm, a Metaverse developer. It was specifically designed as part of a luxury NFT series designed for The Sandbox. Private islands, speedboats and jet skis are other products in this series.

However, this isn’t the first time a Metaverse property has made a large amount of money on sale.

In early November, a plot of land in Decentraland, which is also a decentralized, three-dimensional virtual reality universe based on the Ethereum blockchain, was sold for $ 2.43 million (approx. 18 billion rupees). People can buy land, estates, and wearables for their virtual avatars to customize their experience of being in an alternate reality. All items for sale are NFTs – digital collectibles of value.

Recently, another piece of digital land was purchased in the Axie Infinity virtual gaming world for $ 2.3 million (approximately 17 billion rupees).

Bloomberg Intelligence expects the market opportunity for the Metaverse to reach $ 800 billion (approximately Rs.59.58.719 billion) by 2024.

After Facebook was renamed “Meta” earlier this year, more tech giants like Microsoft, Nvidia Omniverse and Roblox Metaverse are entering the Metaverse’s groove.

The metaverse is here and it changes not only how we see the world, but also how we participate in it – from the factory floor to the meeting room. Just look. pic.twitter.com/h5tsdYMXRD
