The launch of the Vivo V23 series in India could take place on January 4th, according to a report. The development comes a few hours after the company confirmed the smartphone launch in India through a small teaser that was reportedly broadcast during a kabaddi game. The report also highlights that the upcoming smartphone lineup may include a Vanilla Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro handset in the Indian lineup. It also shared a poster showing a dual selfie camera setup – a feature also mentioned in previous leaks.
91Mobiles claims that the Vivo V23 series, which is likely to include the Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro vanilla smartphones, will launch in India on January 4th. A previous report also announced a debut for the Vivo smartphones in January. The 91Mobiles report also says the Vivo phones will have a dual selfie camera. The phones are said to have a 50-megapixel primary sensor in the dual front camera configuration.
Other confirmed specifications include a “Sunshine Gold” color option, an “ultra-slim 3D curved display” and a triple rear-view camera highlighted by a 64-megapixel primary sensor. According to reports, the Vivo V23 is also powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, paired with 8 GB of RAM.
Speculation is rife that the Vanilla Vivo V23 and Vivo V23 Pro smartphones could be renamed models of the Vivo S12 and Vivo S12 Pro phones that recently debuted in China. Both the V-series and S-series phones have a similar looking design. In addition, the Vivo S12 Pro is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and has 8 GB of RAM – similar to what is suggested in the Vivo V23 Pro Geekbench list. However, the Vivo S12 Pro has a 108-megapixel primary sensor on the rear camera, but the Vivo V23 series smartphones are said to have 64-megapixel primary sensors.
