Realme GT 2, Realme GT 2 Pro spec leak before release


The Realme GT 2 series is set to debut later (Tuesday, Jan. 4), with the Chinese company expecting three new smartphones – Realme GT 2, Realme GT 2 Pro and Realme GT 2 Master Edition. Before the smartphone launch, the specs of Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro were leaked online. Realme GT 2 should come onto the market with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, while Realme GT 2 Pro should have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC under the hood.

While previous reports indicated that the Realme GT 2 series includes the recently launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC on all models, a post by tipster “Panda is bald” on Weibo suggests that the Vanilla Realme GT 2 will carry the older Snapdragon 888 SoC. Realme GT is said to have a 6.62-inch Full HD + Samsung E4 AMOLED display, while the Realme GT 2 Pro has a 6.7-inch 2K Samsung E4 AMOLED display, according to the tipster with LTPO technology.

On the front of the camera, the tipster says that both Realme GT 2 will have a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 766 primary sensor with a sensor size of 1 / 1.56 and optical image stabilization. Realme GT 2 is said to have an 8-megapixel secondary and a 2-megapixel tertiary camera sensor. In the meantime, Realme GT 2 Pro will hit the market with a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with a sensor size of 1 / 2.76 and a field of view of 150 degrees, as well as a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Both Realme GT 2 and Realme GT 2 Pro are said to start with a 5,000 mAh battery, along with support for 65 W SuperDart charging. According to previous reports, Realme GT 2 is expected to hit the market in 8 GB + 128 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB storage variants. Realme GT 2 Pro is expected to appear in the memory variants 8 GB + 256 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB. The company’s Realme GT 2 series will be unveiled today at 7:30 p.m. CST Asia (5:00 p.m. EST) and will be streamed live on the company’s China website and on Weibo.
