Jio users can now set permanent instructions for automatic debiting for their tariff plans after a connection between the telecommunications provider and NPCI via UPI.

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and Jio announced in a joint announcement that UPI AUTOPAY has now been launched with Jio for the telecommunications industry.

This allows Jio customers to create standing instructions in the MyJio app and use UPI AUTOPAY for their preferred tariff plans and easy top-up.

The integration of Jio into UPI AUTOPAY has made it the first player in the telecommunications industry to go live with the unique e-mandate feature introduced by NPCI, the companies said in a press release.

For top-up amounts up to Rs. 5,000, customers don’t even need to enter the UPI PIN when completing the top-up, the message says. Adding users can also create, change and remove the e-mandate for the tariff plans according to their requirements via UPI AUTOPAY.

“We believe that our collaboration will change the way Jio customers experience renewal of their cellular plans. With UPI AUTOPAY, our constant aim at NPCI is to provide all customers with added convenience and convenience for their recurring expenses and payments said Kunal Kalawatia, Chief of Products, NPCI.

Jio users no longer need to remember the recharge renewal date or bill payment date and no longer need to refer to the manual, said Kiran Thomas, director, Jio.
