“I’m still working on many challenges with the government,” Musk tweeted Jan. 13, responding to a Twitter user asking for an update on Tesla’s India business plan.
“Hey Elon, I am the Minister of Industry and Commerce for the state of Telangana in India. I am excited to be working with Tesla to overcome the challenges of getting a foothold in India/Telangana. Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives and a premier business destination in India,” Rama Rao replied to Elon Musk’s tweet.
Elon Musk announced in 2020 that Tesla would establish electric vehicle manufacturing units in India. A Tesla subsidiary called India Motors and Energy Private Limited was formed. The company is based in Bengaluru.
